in an oozing half turn, above the boom wrenches in screaming protest. Slamming the boat astern Kal lets out a labored
breath of relief, backing until the drag line points directly to the bottom. Captain
George Yakamura stares down Ensign Dunbar. Why did Admiral Lincoln pull strings to get this unqualified young man aboard? What did this have to do with the vortex? Still tasting his own blood Yakamura fingers a golden page. Outlandish
he believes, fake, how dare he claim its so old!

Duranty's spine as he listened to whistles and shouts from the excited crowd. The President elect! Woodrow Wilson mounted
the stage waving, beaming ear to ear. How he loved this man, his heart swelled, thoughts of his ariticle skewing Roosevelt
filled his mind. Suddenly a buzz behind his ear, annoyed Duranty swiped, missed! A sharp sting, he slapped only to see
a huge horsefly lazily avoid his hand. It dissappeared. Rubbing the tiny wound a device no larger than the head of a
pin popped open just under the skin. A microscopic tendril wormed out, pulling minerals for growth out of interstitial
fluid. As the crowd quieted Walter caught a ringing in his left ear as tendrils followed nerve branches towards his
eardrum. Schuje looks up at the shuttle's 'Circle of Willis', billions of
nano-bots making its edges appear fuzzy and frayed. If this didn't work he had no idea how to slow Kandango's death plunge
into the inner solar system. Even at half light speed impact in the Oort cloud would create a wall of ionizing radiation that

Hafnium excited to detonate with 10 Kg TNT per gram, this element coating a cobalt core. Coil gun that accelerates a
1/10th gram clipped piece to 480 meters/sec. X-Ray emitter with a maximum effective range in air of about 40 feet at sea level.
The weapon's computer takes distance tracking data from a modified Radio-Shack baseball radar calculates time to target and
sets off the X Ray as the projectile(s) reach the target zone. Stun sets the Hafnium projectile off between 1 and 0.5

target. The author has built a primitive version of this weapon, without the Hafnium of course! He has reached
45 meters per second using a four coil device, laser-optical signalling, fast SCR's, and external capacitive discharge.
The author is attempting to reduce the size of projectile to up velocity, but is encountering problems with speed of switching
electronics. The Exhaser in this story uses 40 micro coils and better switching technology using designated Intregrated
Chip design. An A-123 nano tech batteries provide onboard power (700 watt hr) a high tech capacitor is built into the
body of the weapon. High joule output stems from large capacitor storage. Currently the author is building a "clunky"
ten coil barrel device.
Hint: Part of Exhaser design appears in the
story as part of a nuclear electric "rocket" engine that could drive a space craft to Mars at opposition in only
17 days. Unlike the Plasma engine touted by a NASA engineer this engine has much higher thrust and similar specific
impulse. A well detailed design of this engine will be released by Labor Day.
Hypercapacitor modules, consider they can be charged using gravity waves providing power for any location on the
planet. In 1963 using liquid hydrogen pumped through a nuclear core NASA
scientists reached a specific impulse of 970 (Isp). Problem was they pumped the H2 right through the core. Being acidic
the hydrogen began to dissolve fuel elements putting a lot of radiation and trans-uranics into the atmosphere. With
the Test Ban Treaty, and UN Resolution these experiments stopped. With a modified HYPERION reactor, secondary loop using
sodium metal, and liquid nitrogen an engine with an Isp of 843 is easily possible. Question: Could a Howard Hughes
type personality in India take this technology apply it to an existing airframe, heavily modified and covered with titanium
(insulated), could it go from runway to orbit? Note the math is 843*9.81*Launch mass/orbital mass = 4.86111 Mps or better.

Lost is a science fiction story that applies sound science at its core. It challenges
the reader to consider folly of humanity can remain very consistent throughout the ages. It contains a message of hope
and warning for today. Greatness Lost covers three time periods, Atlantis 39,623 years ago,
the present through AD 2023 and five weeks in AD 2272. All three time periods are ones of great strife, cause an old
one: Liberty, Freedom of choice, and right to enjoy fruits of one's labor threatened by overbearing government tyranny.
The story bases Atlantis's economic success on its Republic. It is a Cro-Magnon dominated country spawned in the Mediterranean
basin under military and social pressure from a Homo Sapien based rival moving up from Africa. Zariia, an empire under
a collectivist form of government. Atlanteans are polarized politically as its monied elites, media, and entertaiment
sectors move away from limited Republican form of government to a system of one person one vote. Zarlian politicans
and diplomats begin to take advantage of Atlantean politics of envy, fear, and power... Sound familiar?
Six years ago the author of Greatness Lost predicted America will enter a new phase based
on similar political polarization and loss of trust in its system. It will not turn out like Europe.
Today
radical Progressives are attempting to chart a new course for America. Protected by major media, radicals are taking an election
victory based on fuzzy slogans as a major mandate. Radicals behind the party in power are not aware of a fundamental shift
that just occurred after the 2008 election. A new conservative-independent network that reaches 35 million people daily
has gelled. Using micro video technology and modern communications it is smarter and faster than the established education-media-progressive
network that elected the current President.This network is growing at two million people monthly. Harnessed it will
raise billions in the next election cycle - wealth aimed at the heart of progressive power. This explains swift effort to
grab power for government, and control free speech. On Sept 12th 2009, 1.7 million concerned
citizens jammed the streets of Washington DC to protest growth of government's size. Larger than Selma, Martian Luther King's
"I have a dream" rally, and Louis Farrakhan's Million Man march combined. Another two million protested across
America. This could be the largest single day of protest in US history. Ordinary folks, who toil day after days to support
their famlies, pay taxes, dream, take chances, push for a better day by deed, rose to tell the President he is not emperor
for even a day, he was elected as commander in chief to guide America under its Constitution, not run roughshod over it. Americans
witnessed a day of thunderous cry for Liberty, without a shred of violence. This despite a well known fact about people
who attended the Washington rally - many carried weapons. This was perhaps the largest armed force to enter Washington
DC limits since the War of 1812! {A joke so don't blog about it} The 9-12 Message: Progressives are sending America on a unstainable course based on monetarism, new social programs,
and environmental quasi science is not supported by a large majority of taxpaying citizens. They know and oppose Treasury
coordinating with the Federal Reserve to purchase Treasury notes though a back door maneuver consisting of selling notes privately
then purchasing them through selected banks with dollars out of thin air. As if you wrote an IOU placed it in your wallet,
spent the money, then attempted to use the IOU as basis for a loan from the bank. Protesters know this is nonsense!
Tickling the dragon! An idea that destroys value of money, savings, and creates the kind of national strife that gives rise
to an Aldolf Hitler, or Joseph Stalin. They are not NAZI's as Nancy Pelosi claims, they are the most fundemental American,
many of whom have stood, spilled blood for the ideals of Liberty, all know evil must be opposed before it enslaves. They know
today's progressives are not evil, it is the power of the system they are creating that is. History is clear concentrated
power without check leaves just a small step to dictatorship, tyranny, always followed by re-education camps or worse...
America before its Revolution was special, after it became a 5,000 year leap for all mankind. Patriots who marched on
9-12 know this. They do not 'want their country back' they demand a corrupt Washington steps back from this brink and
accept America's Constitution. This was a warning shot, the next step is in the court of elites in America's capital.
If Washington's power elites do not heed this firm message the next election will be interesting indeed.
Ever since Homo Sapien appeared on this planet 400,000 years ago monetarism has never worked. One of the points of Greatness
Lost is current policy will trigger off an eroding dollar and inflation. It will make the current economic crisis, that would
have ended by only supporting the banking system for a short time, into a hangover going forward for at least a decade. PERSIA,
GREECE, ROME AND THE BRITISH EMPIRE ATTEMPTED THIS AND FAILED. Unlike 1929-32 the American dollar is not backed by gold, instead
the country is awash with trillions of dollars in government and individual debt. Current economic improvement will be short
lived. US demographics point to a severe contraction of babyboom and new family spending. Number of new entrants
to the US workforce is tanking. 250,000 a month when Bush assumed office in 2001, it is 125,000 a month now, and will
be negative by late 2012. Population trend and huge debt points to another recession beginning by late 2010 or early
2011. With globalization America cannot rely on its economy leading the world out of recession for unlike 1948, 1961, or 1981
the US has considerable competition for the new products and ideas that will form up to create the next great economic boom.
Current ideas coming out of Washington are exactly the opposite approach needed at this moment in history. US taxation
on business profit and income are soon going to be the most onerous in the world.
Thankfully
America's saving grace is its history of civil soceity based on rule of law. This was reflected in nonviolence from over 3.7
million Americans. Not since Ghandi have so many rose up with malice for none, and charity for all. From the
War of 1812 to the recent Banking crisis Americans of good character and reasonable thinking improve our general welfare.
In history to come this underlying strength of America will continue. Logic seeps through no matter how much politics gets
in the way. After every recession, the next strong business cycle is driven by inventions of a
'Howard Hughes' tycoon who dominates up to decades afterward. This downturn-recovery cycle will be no different. The
question for the first time in over 150 years is where will this person(s) surface? To repeat: Neo Progressive economics
has led to a situation where America's tax system is a lot harder on innovators than China or India. Greatness Lost Is Legend story places this generation's "Howard" in India.
Why? India's economy is 88% domestic. Off all emerging economies India is least afflicted by the global downturn.
Reliable data shows it is still growing at 5% per annum. (One cannot trust China's economic data and it's ageing population
is a growing problem) An economic refugee from North America, the story's central character quickly begins to
dominate international shipping, bio-fuels, and later, inner solar system space travel. As Howard Hughes did in the
late 1930's through the war into the 50's this man begins to change the world. During this period
America is wrought by a second re-alignment as profound as the Civil War. Millions of citizens waking up to where Progressive
class warfare politics is taking their country. Neo-Progressives become more and more desperate to hold on to power
as their desperate bubble boom - inflation cycle ends in disaster as it did for Germany in 1933. Liberal financiers
and elitists behind those currently in power seek to cement status for a new global order. Exactly what Jefferson warned
about in America becoming world-wide. A century of Progressive economic
thinking starts to be exposed just as Communism was in the former Soviet Union. Progressives, most in the
Democrat Party, along with some Republicans, attempt to defend themselves by using government power to choke off debate and
attempt to steal the '12 election. A man fearing for his country and the Constitution responds... America's re-alignment arrives at a pivotal
time for Humanity. Fictional in Greatness Lost, this actually could be very real!
Following current trends Homo Sapien will probably sprial downward as it consumes resources at a pace greater than
the planet can renew. Progressives in a spasm of global community thought, started this trend in the late 1960's. Led
by elites behind environmentalists - politicans all over the world, applied community ownership principle to the oceans, Antarctica,
the Moon, and beyond. No nuclear powered rocket engines, no exploitation without license from some kind of domestic
or international body. A nation that built the Empire State Building in 400 days will not
finish replacing the World Trade Center in 4000! This incredible reality is a result of ideology that believes
resources are owned collectivelly. In reality global resources are abused "collectively" three basic ways:
Corruption by despotic nations, first world business-government corruption, or placed off limits by its henchman: conservation-environmental
concern. In the story after domestic re-alignment America returns to its republican-capitalist roots in time
for a new Howard Hughes who doesn't give Americans, and the world for that matter, a choice. On June 19th 2014 a nuclear
powered "single stage to orbit" spacecraft lifts out of "a pacific island of considerable importance"
for the Moon. Built right under the noses of the American government, its flight plan calls for a landing in Moscow
four days later... A new alignment begins. America after 100 years of soft civil war begins to re-assert its driving
leadership of humanity. The Star Ship Kandango encounters evidence its encounter with Portal has split off an
alternative reality. President Kennedy was killed on Nov 22nd 1963. He didn't die of natural causes in 1987, or serve
two terms as President. President Wilson won re-election with help from a man that should have died. A third world war
triggered by the Eastern Alliance's radical socialist Islamic Council occurs in 2053 killing 1.6 billion. A key event
in America not seen before, Islamic terrorists attack in a systemic way. On Washington DC, and dozens of schools accross
the US on Nov 9th 2011, killing thousands of children. A week later a cyber attack taking down banking and communications
networks. Last, just before Christmas, on America's national electrical grid With the Senate destroyed, emergency powers
are given to the President. Early in February 2012, as several States and Americans begin to organize against the President,
the FCC takes control of talk radio, ordering closure of "Wolf News". Out of fear of liberty lost, a Marine
Colonel seizes a radio station in Dayton Ohio calling for national resistance. Texas activates its National Guard passing
a law giving two votes to those who own a business that pays taxes. Similar laws quickly pass in 9 other States. The
President is forced to leave the US and set up a government in exile in Europe. Captain George Yakamura, confused
by recent events, the Portal, knows some events are true, others appearing to be false. All of this seems to key in
on one man. He sends a probe back to 1912 to place a para intelligent nervous system implant into future NY Times reporter
Walter Duranty. What it's record shows could mean civil war...
